Labour plays its cards right

labourrose-icon3.jpgLABOUR has taken control of Falkirk Council – ending a six year rule of the local authority by the SNP.  The party, supported by two independents, took power on a cut of the cards.

Linda Gow, the new leader of Falkirk Council, said: “On May 3, thousands of people across Falkirk District voted Labour. We emerged as the largest party within the Council and I’m delighted that we have formed the new administration.

“The regeneration of Grangemouth and other town centres will continue under the new administration. But we’ll do this having a stronger dialogue with traders and local communities. We want to be open and more responsive to local council tax payers. And we want to get the very best results for every pound of public money we spend.”

She added: “We have a dynamic team full of talented people who are committed to moving forward with a range of manifesto pledges to make the area a better place to live.”
